Angels. . . blue ones
WooHoo! The Navy Blue Angels are in town for 2 shows this weekend. They come early in the week to practice in the airspace, plus do all the PR at the local schools and in the community. I don't know how anyone is expected to get any work done when they are in the air. I can't help but stop and watch. Here are some pix from previous years.

I love the Blue Angels but arent so found of them practicing during Fleet Week in SF...they really scare the crap outta my clients and its hard to talk when they buzz the buildings! =)

Understandable! If you're already a nervous nellie as it is, giant hornets don't help.
ReplyDeleteNothing like an air show with the Blue Angels performing. Seen them many times. Growing up in Pensacola ( their home base),it was always a thrill to go to the base and watch them practice.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about buzing the buildings Klvalus but that is their trade mark. Luckily you were not in the landing path at the air strip. That can be very un nerving watching 6 F14s comming at you.

ReplyDeleteMy friend's shop is on the airport, and we used to be able to sit out on the ramp. The jets would taxi in front of the crowd, then make the 45 degree turn onto the runway. We sat right at the apex. We could feel the heat and wind as the squadron took off. Back then they were flying the A4 Skyhawks.
Nowadays we can't even enter the shop property because the Navy decided it was the prime spot to set up their home for the weekend, and then they mumbled something about homeland security. The nerve!
so you get our snowbirds but your BA's couldn't be bothered coming to the Abbotsford airshow a week after they were in Bellingham....I'm not impressed, lol
